Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Apostle Paul said, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin. This is so important! When we declare ourselves to be dead indeed to sin, we pronounce the sin nature DEFEATED! Anything that is defeated cannot control us. We have the ability to do this ONLY due to what Jesus accomplished on the Cross.
Our faith in His Victory over the enemy allows us to have Victory over the enemy in our lives. If you believe Jesus defeated Satan and all his demons on the Cross of Calvary and rose from the grave Victorious over sin and every demon of Hell, then you can live every day of your life in that same Victory!
Jesus won the Victory for us. In Paul's letter to the Colossians, he wrote, Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15) We live in freedom in America because of the many brave people who gave their lives in battle on our behalf. We are the land of the free because of the shed blood of the brave. Our forefathers based our freedom in America on the Freedom they had in Christ. They understood it!
Every born-again believer in Christ can live in Freedom because Jesus died on the Cross for them. It is the exact same principle as the freedom we know in America. All freedom comes by way of shed blood. Jesus shed His Precious Blood that we may be Free from the powers and principalities that seek to destroy us. Jesus said it all when He said, The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
Americans continue to stand for freedom, and we will fight to defend our freedom. We are not a dictatorship controlled by evil. We are free and we know it. We believe in our history, so we live our lives in a state of freedom. We declare ourselves to be the land of the free because we know what our Constitution says, and we are willing to stand strong against any enemy or foe who tries to take it away.
Christians should feel exactly the same way about their Freedom in Christ. The enemy was defeated by Jesus Christ ALONE! He didn’t need any help. He won the battle single-handedly. If you believe that, then you can claim the Victory for yourself. It’s all in The Book. The Bible is God's Word, and it is TRUE HISTORY.
If you believe it to be true and understand it, then you can reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is the declaration that will……..turn the tide ……….in your life.
Dead to sin, alive in Christ! Doreen
