Luke 3:22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a Dove upon Him, and a Voice came from Heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
After being baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus and God was pleased. After being tempted in the wilderness for 40 days, Jesus started His Ministry on earth, which would last only 3 1/2 years.
Although Jesus was 100% God, He was also 100% man. Therefore, He needed the Holy Spirit to stand against temptation, perform Miracles of Healing and Deliverance, cast out demons, and die on the Cross for the sins of the world. Without the Holy Spirit, the “man” Jesus would not have been able to do this.
It is the Holy Spirit that is the Teacher, Helper, Guide and Power Source of God. He was all this for Jesus, and He is all this for every believer who seeks Him. Without the Holy Spirit, there is no Divine Instruction, Help, Guidance or Power of God.
With that said, let's take another look at our Scales of Justice. With the Cross of Christ in the middle, we find, suspended from one arm, our dish. From the other side is God’s dish. When we, through faith in Jesus’ Work on the Cross, approach Him in prayer and obedience, Jesus will intercede for us and approach God on our behalf. At that moment, God releases the Holy Spirit to go to work in that situation. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, Helper, Guide, and the Power Source of God. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (John 14:26)
Every prayer and petition to God must be made through Jesus. All prayers are to be made to God the Father in His Name and in faith in what He accomplished on the Cross. This is the only faith God recognizes. Faith in anything else is worthless. It is Jesus who conquered all sin, infirmity, and demonic oppression on the Cross.
Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My Name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My Name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:23-24)
When we pray to God IN THE NAME OF JESUS and believe in His Finished Work on the Cross, Jesus intercedes to God the Father on our behalf. Then the Holy Spirit is able to work.
God has an Order for everything. The Trinity is the Godhead; Three in One; the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. They all work together exactly as God has planned. We don’t pray directly to God. Nor do we pray to the Holy Spirit. The Word of God teaches us to pray in the Name of Jesus (believing in the Cross of Christ), who will intercede to the Father on our behalf, who will release the Holy Spirit to work in our situation.
Praying in the Name of Jesus will………turn the tide .........in your life.
