Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.
No one really knows who wrote the Book of Hebrews, but we do know it was inspired by the Holy Spirit as was the entire Bible. (2 Timothy 3:16)
In the 12th Chapter of Hebrews, we are instructed to lay aside every weight and sin that ensnares us and run the race called life with endurance, ever keeping our eyes on Jesus and our faith in Him who endured the Cross on our behalf. He accomplished what God sent Him to do and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God.
Jesus is sitting there today wanting and waiting for every person on earth to place their faith and trust in Him and what He accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. When we FULLY trust God and have COMPLETE faith in Jesus, we will easily reach out to Him and give to Him every weight and sin that makes this race called life so hard to run.
God wants us to be free from all the weight and burdens of life. He sacrificed His Only Son so we can be free. For us to not relinquish any weight or sin (great or small) to God is to not believe what Jesus accomplished on the Cross was enough.
When Jesus completed His Work on earth, He set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of God where He is to this day. When we have a task to do, we keep working until it is finished. When the job is completed, we sit down. Jesus finished His Work and sat down with God. This is our example of a good work ethic.
Jesus is God’s “Right Hand Man.” God’s Redemption Plan for mankind was done by His Right Hand Man. When the Work was complete, Jesus set down, and that’s where He is today. He will remain there until God gives Him the instruction to go back and get His Bride; the Church. This is the Event we are waiting for; the Rapture of the Church.
Until then, we are to run the race of life doing what we were created and gifted to do; build and edify the Body of Christ, one soul at a time. It’s difficult to do this when we are weighted down with burdens and sin. Jesus is sitting at God's Right Hand with His Hands out to us. He is waiting for us to willingly give Him the weight that is dragging us down. The Work has already been done by Him. If you believe that, then give those weights to Him. Whatever it is, it’s no contest for God, the Creator of the entire universe!
Jesus wants to………turn the tide .……….in your life.
Running lighter! Doreen
