1 Corinthians 10:20-21 Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. You cannot drink the Cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: you cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and the table of devils.
The Apostle Paul warns of the dangers of having fellowship with demons. As born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are changed from the sinful person we once were, and we MUST guard against having fellowship with demons.
In the next verse, Paul clearly states that we cannot remain in Christ and willingly enter into fellowship with evil at the same time. The question many Christians ask is, “What does this include?”
It includes anything and everything that does not glorify Christ. Please remember that Jesus IS the Word of God. Therefore, anything that is not in line with the Word of God does not glorify Christ.
Anytime we welcome demons and demonic objects and activities into our lives and homes, we are corrupting the Temple of God. Do you not know that you are the Temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16) Do you know this and understand that YOU are the Temple of God? The Temple of God is NOT the building on the corner where people go on Sunday morning for an hour. YOU are the Temple of God. Every born-again believer is the Temple of God, and it is our responsibility to keep God’s Temple pure and holy because we are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit and He WILL NOT dwell in a filthy temple.
It doesn’t matter what all the other believers are doing. What matters is what YOU are doing to keep the Temple of God pure and holy because in the very next verse Paul said, If anyone defiles the Temple of God, God will destroy him. For the Temple of God is Holy, which Temple you are. (1 Corinthians 3:17)
It is our responsibility to keep the Temple of God pure and Holy. We do this by continuously guarding the gates of the Temple so nothing evil can enter in. The gates are our eyes, ears, hands, feet, and mouth.
This leads us to a series of questions in regard to the spiritual condition of the Temple of God. What are we allowing our eyes to see? What are we listening to? What are we touching? Where are we going? What are we eating and drinking? What are we saying? All these questions are to be put to the test of the Standard by which we are to live. That Standard is the Word of God.
Every born-again believer in Jesus wants to live a life pleasing to God. We do this by obeying His Word and using it as our Standard of living. EVERYTHING is to be put to the test of the Word of God.
When we discover things that are contaminating and defiling the Temple, we must immediately clean it out and repent of our wrongdoing. God will forgive us. This is His Promise found in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
A clear understanding of this will………turn the tide .………in your life
