Saved To The Uttermost

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Jesus sits at the Right Hand of the Throne of God and continually makes intercession for us. He WANTS us to believe in Him and know that He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him,

The word “uttermost” includes everything. The definition is:  Extreme; being in the furthest, greatest, or highest degree; Jesus is able to accomplish anything and everything for us by His intercession for us. He said, I have come that they might have life and life abundant. (John 10:10)

God is able to do the uttermost for us when we come to God through Him, (Jesus).

Hebrews 7:25 is an extremely powerful Verse of Scripture because it explains how we are able to enjoy the abundant life Jesus came and died for us to have.

So many times Scripture is better understood when the phrases are put in a different order. Consider this change in the order of the phrases in this Passage: Since He (Jesus) always lives to make intercession (goes to God on our behalf) for those who come to God through Him, He is able to save to the uttermost.

For the past several days we have been discussing our ability to take weights and burdens off our plate and give them over to God. This can ONLY be done by coming to God through the Cross of Christ. That is why the picture of a scale of justice is so perfect for this application. The ONLY way to take a weight off our dish and get it to God’s dish is through the Cross of Christ in the middle. He is our intercessor and the WAY to God. There is no other way. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME. (John 14:6)

People try to bypass Jesus and go straight to God, but that is not possible. Because of the sin in our lives, we CANNOT approach God directly. We must go through Jesus, and this single Verse in Hebrews makes that perfectly clear. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

There is one more thing we need to note about this Passage. Please do not pass over these Words: He always lives to make intercession for them. Jesus will never cease to live. Nor will He ever stop making intercession for us. His Mercy for us is the same today as it was for the people He ministered to in person during His earthly Ministry. Everything He did for them in Person, He wants to do for us through His intercession for us.

When we come to God through Jesus, He will make intercession for us, and God will respond as He always does, in Love and Mercy for us. Isn’t that wonderful? God is so good to us. He loves us so much. All we have to do is believe in Jesus and His Work on the Cross and come to God through Him.

It is our faith in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the Cross that makes all things possible for us. Every weight on your dish can be removed and placed on God’s dish. All you have to do is believe in Jesus and go to God through Him.

Belief in Jesus will……….turn the tide ..………...in your life.

Believing Him for the uttermost!        Doreen
