Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the Truth in Love
As we make our way through the Passage of Scripture found in Ephesians 4:11-16, we come to another extremely important phrase. But speaking the Truth in Love
The entire Word of God is Truth in Love. Scripture interprets Scripture. The Word of God will NEVER contradict itself. When we look at these two words (truth and love), we find something very beautiful.
God is Love. (1 John 4:8) The Word of God is God. (John 1:1) God’s Word is Truth. (2 Timothy 3:16) When we speak the Word of God, we are speaking the Truth in Love.
Much of the Church today is afraid to speak the Truth of the Word of God because it may not be politically correct. God NEVER told us to be politically correct. He said, speak the Truth in Love.
Why are people offended by the Word of God? They are offended because the Word of God is Truth and will bring conviction and correction. (2 Timothy 3:16) Our society has led people to believe they are not in need of conviction or correction. People are told that it doesn’t matter what they do because they have the right to do so. That's not what the Word of God says, and when any false message is spoken from the pulpit of the Church, it will not result in people coming to Christ or growing in their faith because it is a lie. The fact is, we were all born with the sin nature and are all sinners. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23). Admitting this is the first step to being saved and born again.
God knows all about the sin nature. He knows we are sinners. There is no hiding it from Him. And no creature is hidden from His Sight, but all are naked and exposed to the Eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:13) He loves us anyway! No matter what we have done, God still loves us! That’s WHY He sent His Son to the Cross to be our Sacrifice. He loves us, and He wants us to live righteous lives according to His Word. That is speaking the Truth in Love.
Called Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers are to speak the Truth in Love so people will understand just how much God loves them and wants the best for them. His Best is His Son, Jesus, who is the essence of Grace and Mercy. The Word of God tells us 43 times that His Mercy endures forever.
However, the Mercy and Grace of God is NOT a license to go on sinning. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound? Certainly not! (Romans 6:1-2)
When the Word of God is spoken in Truth and Love, people will come to the understanding that they stand in the need of the Forgiveness of God. As they repent of their sin, the Lord God is faithful and just to forgive them. (1 John 1:9)
If they sincerely repent and desire to be free from the bondage of sin, the Holy Spirit will perform a delivering work in them and grant them their desire. This ongoing process in each of our lives is called Sanctification. Only God can accomplish this in us through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Atoning Work on the Cross. He died that we may be saved, healed, and delivered. (Acts 4:18)
This is what God does when His Word is spoken in Truth and Love. Hallelujah!
The Word of God will…...…..turn the tide
Praising you Lord! Doreen
