Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
From the time Adam and Eve fell in the Garden of Eden, the problem is, and has always been, sin. Due to their sin, we are all born with the sin nature. Until we understand, accept, and BELIEVE in what Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary, we will be slaves to the sin in our lives.
There is no way to overcome the sin nature except by placing our faith in the Cross of Christ. On the Cross, Jesus conquered sin in the life of every person who believes He did.
If sin dominates your life in any way, you are not believing Jesus died for that particular sin. It doesn’t matter what the sin is; when Jesus gave up His Spirit and said, It is finished, that was it! It was finished! He defeated Satan at that moment in time.
So, why do Christians still sin? We sin because we still have the sin nature in us. We were born with it, and it will always be there as long as we are alive on this earth. HOWEVER, due to what Jesus accomplished for us on the Cross, we can take authority over the sin and no longer be slaves to it. Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
This means while we may still sin, the sin shall not have dominion over us. It WILL NOT rule our lives. We will not wake up every morning thinking about the sin in our lives. Rather, we will wake up every morning praising God for our Victory over the sin that once enslaved us. That’s the difference.
Belief in Jesus will………turn the tide ………...in your life.
Believing Him! Doreen
