Ephesians 6:13-18 Wherefore take unto you the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins gird about with Truth, and having on the Breastplate of Righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; Above all, taking the Shield of Faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all Saints.
All soldiers are issued a uniform and weapons before they go into battle. The Lord God has provided His Soldiers of the Cross with everything we need to stand strong and defeat the enemy who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy us.
After describing the enemy (Verses 10-12), the Apostle Paul describes our Armor and Weapons in his letter to the Ephesians. This is what will prepare us to both fight and defend ourselves against the enemy we face on a daily basis. We are God’s soldiers of the Cross of Christ. We cannot give a single inch of ground to the enemy. We are called to stand and stand strong! having done all, to stand.
Let's talk DEFENSE! Our protection (armor) consists of five powerful components: Helmet of Salvation, Shield of Faith, Breastplate of Righteousness, Girdle of Truth, Boots of the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. From head to toe, God has provided everything we need to be covered and protected from the enemy, but we must understand the armor and wear it constantly.
Our defense against the enemy consists of our Salvation, Faith, Righteousness, Truth, and the Gospel of Peace. All this is included in our Believer’s Benefit Package and is available to us so we can fight the good fight of the Kingdom of God as mighty soldiers of the Cross!
