The Mind Of Christ

1 Corinthians 2:16 But we have the Mind of Christ.

As we hear the Word spoken in Truth in Love, we will grow up in our faith and knowledge of Christ, who is in all things. God wants us to include Him in every aspect of our lives. The Word says that Christ is the Head. It also says we have the Mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16)

To have the Mind of Christ, we must undergo the renewal of our own mind because in no way is the mind of a person anything like the Mind of Christ. (Romans 12:2) Only when we surrender our feeble minds to Christ can He bring renewal and revelation. Then and only then, will we begin to have the Mind of Christ.

In years past, we saw people wearing bracelets and tee shirts that said: W.W.J.D. which stood for What Would Jesus Do? These items were worn so the people would remember to react and respond as Jesus would in whatever situation they found themselves in.

Having the Mind of Christ is far greater than wearing a bracelet or tee-shirt. No one can speak or act as Jesus did without first THINKING as Jesus did. This means seeing people as Jesus would see them. When we begin to look at people and situations through the Eyes of Jesus, we take on the Mind of Christ, and we will react totally differently than we did prior to the renewal of our mind.

Jesus never spoke a Word that was not from the Father in Heaven. Nor did He ever do anything that was not in the Will of His Father in Heaven. This should be the goal of every born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. When we allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit of God, we will react as Jesus would. We will see people differently because the Fruit of the Spirit will define who we are. But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)

The Word of God tells us that all these characteristics are the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. They are not the fruit of faith, or obedience, or going to church, or fasting, or any "religious" activity. They are the Fruit of the Spirit of God. Unless and until we give our lives over to the leading, guidance, counseling, and teaching of the Holy Spirit, we will not bear the Fruit of the Spirit.

Some will argue that the Word of God says that immediately upon being saved we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Yes, that is true, but are we surrendered to Him? Are we willing to give our mind over to Him? Are we open to being led by Him? Are we fully trusting Him in all things? Are we seeking to have the Fruit of the Spirit active in our lives?

Jesus said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) He also defined the Commandments as: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great Commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  (Matthew 22:37-39)

The only way to accomplish this is to have the Mind of Christ, which can only be achieved when we surrender to the Working of the Holy Spirit within us. To receive more, we must give up what we have.

Being led by the Holy Spirit will……....turn the tide …....…..in your life

I give up!    Doreen
