1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the Victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Born again Christians should never view themselves as weak, vulnerable, and beaten down. This is the description of a victim, which is exactly what Satan wants us all to be. However, the Word of God is clear on this: For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the Victory that has overcome the world—our faith. If you are born again, you are not a victim. You are a VICTOR!
Satan does not fight fair. He will do anything in his power to cause us to see ourselves as victims, which is a state of weakness and vulnerability. In the natural we may be weak, but spiritually we are made strong in Christ.
We live in the midst of a spiritual battle every day, but we don’t have to be wimpy soldiers with wimpy weapons. We have been afforded everything we need to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil! We have been given the weapons, but it’s up to us to put them to use against the enemy. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty in power for the destruction of strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:4)
There are two sides to every battle: offense and defense. We have been given the weapons we need to defend ourselves and conquer the enemy. God doesn’t do things halfway. He provides everything we need to be victorious over Satan and his demons.
The Apostle Paul tells us, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the Power of His Might. (Ephesians 6:10) Every Passage of Scripture on the subject of spiritual warfare tells us the same thing. In and of ourselves, we can do nothing. All the gunpowder in the world will never defeat Satan. A nuclear bomb can’t faze him. We CANNOT fight him off in the natural. Physical strength and/or willpower will never succeed in defeating the enemy. If any of these things were successful, man would get the glory, and God will never allow that to happen.
The battle is a spiritual one. To defeat the enemy in our lives, we must fight him spiritually. This is where we have the advantage, and Satan knows it. He does not stand a chance against the Power we have been given in the Lord Jesus.
The enemy is continually attacking you in some form or fashion. That is a given. He never quits. So we must Be strong in the Lord, and in the Power of His Might. He won the Victory on the Cross. This is where the enemy was defeated. Place your faith in what Jesus did on the Cross and give Him glory for what He accomplished there.
You can’t do it, so stop trying. God can, so start believing!
If you believe, He will……..turn the tide ……..in your life!
Giving God the glory for EVERY victory! Doreen
