Ephesians 6:10-11  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might. Put on the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 

 

The Apostle Paul wrote this to the church at Ephesus. These people were all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was not writing to the spiritually lost Ephesians, but those who had accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

 

My point being, if Christians cannot be attacked by Satan, why would Paul have written to them all this about their spiritual battle? Do not be deceived my friends. The strongest, most faithful Christians fight the spiritual battle every day. To you and me, Paul wrote: my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might. Put on the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 

 

Paul then goes on to describe our enemy: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. This is a description of Satan's army of demons.

 

Although our enemies are not human beings, Satan uses people to fight on his side against us. Satan has a kingdom. It’s called the kingdom of darkness. It consists of a well-organized army of demons who diligently work to enlist people to fight on the dark side against the Kingdom of God every day.

 

Unfortunately, our culture has embraced this demonic world of darkness. We see it everywhere around us. The problem is, there is so little teaching, or false teaching, on this subject from the pulpits of the Church; most Christians do not understand the severity of the situation.

 

Anything and everything that goes against the Word of God and does not hold Jesus Christ in high esteem is of the enemy. All you have to do to find it is turn on the television, listen to music, or visit a shopping mall or airport.

 

The Word of God clearly tells us to come apart and be separate from the world. We are called to be the Light in the darkness. However, in many cases we see the Church trying to be like the world instead of offering the lost and dying world something far greater than the darkness of Satan.

 

First and foremost, we have to choose a side. Every person is either on the side of the Kingdom of God or the kingdom of darkness. You cannot be on both sides. You cannot promote darkness one day and proclaim to be a soldier in the Kingdom of God the next. It doesn’t work that way.

 

God’s Kingdom consists of people who love the Lord their God with their whole heart, mind, and soul. Who seek Him first before all else; who shine the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ in the world of darkness and despair. No matter what, they give God all the glory, honor and praise. 

 

Let us love God wholeheartedly; every day, all day long. Lift up the Name of Jesus who is our Savior and Lord. I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. (Psalm 138:1)

 

Loving and seeking God with your whole heart will……..turn the tide ...……..in your life.
