Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your Salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise,

 

We concluded the Morning Message yesterday with this statement: 1. God has a Plan. 2. Jesus is the Door to His Plan. 3. The Holy Spirit is the Power to make the Plan come to fruition. Sounds easy, doesn’t it: 1, 2, 3. Yes, it sounds easy, but it is not all that easy because, in order for it to happen, we have to totally surrender our lives over to Him and totally trust Them. Them? Yes, Them: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. Do you trust Them?

 

This morning, the Lord showed me another picture that may help explain this. He said, “Picture a map. You are here at this point. I have a wonderful destination for you but it is a long way away with no way to get there. Your faith in my Son, Jesus and His Finished Work on the Cross, is your road (Way) to that destination. My Holy Spirit is your vehicle to get you down that road so you can reach your destination.”

 

What we need to understand is that we need all Three Persons of the Godhead in our lives. Faith in God the Father is good and we all need to believe in Him but that is not enough. Faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified is wonderful and we all need to believe in Him but without faith in God the Father and His Holy Spirit, we will be hard-pressed to reach our destination. We must have proper faith in all Three Persons of the Godhead: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The Three of Them will make living our lives pleasing to God, a reality.

 

Discarding or disregarding one of them leaves us stranded and alone. If we lose faith in Jesus, our road disappears and we have no idea which way to go. When we stop trusting in the Holy Spirit, we are without a vehicle. We may be on the road (faith in Jesus) and we believe there is a destination for us (determined by God), but we are afoot! We have no protection from the storms or incredibly hot weather. We have to plow through potholes and go around obstacles. It’s slow going and so hard!

 

My friends, without the Holy Spirit to Teach us, Guide us, Counsel us, and Correct us, we will get nowhere. Yes, we know that God has a Plan and a destination for us. Yes, we believe in Jesus and Him being the Way, but without faith in the Holy Spirit, we are depending on luck and not the Power and Blessings of God.

 

Many people totally disregard the Holy Spirit because they have been taught that He has no part or place in the life of the believer. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Paul said, In Him you also trusted, after you heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your Salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise, (Ephesians 1:13)

 

Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, wrote these Words: And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12) When we trust and believe in all Three Persons of the Godhead, everything changes in our lives.

 

Faith in Them will……….turn the tide……….in your life.
