Abide In Christ

Galatians 5:4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from Grace.

The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the church in Galatia because they had turned away from their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the Grace of Christ, to a different gospel. (Galatians 1:6) These people had heard the Truth of the Gospel of Christ and were following Him. However, it is obvious by Paul’s words that they had turned away.

The entire Book of Galatians is instructions on how to live a Sanctified life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. My friends, how we live our lives is very important. We cannot say we are born again and live unrighteous lives. We cannot proclaim to be a new creation and live like the old creation.

Paul instructs us to Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from Grace. (Galatians 5:1-4)

No one can take our Salvation from us or rob us of our faith. However, we can turn from it ourselves. When we make our Christian life religious, we become estranged from Christ. At this point, we are trying to keep all the rules and laws but have, in fact, fallen from Grace. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from Grace. (Galatians 5:4)

When we are truly saved and born again, we never lose sight of what Jesus did for us on the Cross of Calvary. Because of His Finished Work on the Cross, we can be made a totally new creation. This is WHY He went to the Cross. He suffered and died so we can live Spirit-filled lives here on earth and build the Kingdom of God.

Jesus said, Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. (John 15:4) The word abide means to live there; to stay there and not leave. No one can cut us off from Christ, but we can choose to leave Him ourselves and when we do, we have fallen from Grace.

Over the past several days we have given multiple Passages of Scripture that renounce the false doctrine of unconditional eternal security; once saved, always saved. The simple fact of the matter is that while no one else can separate us from the Love of God, we CAN make the choice to separate ourselves from Him.

Yesterday, we broke down, verse by verse, the Parable of the Ten Virgins. We found that five of them did not have oil in their lamps when the bridegroom came for them. These five were left behind because they failed to live Spirit-led lives. They CHOSE to live in darkness rather than in the Light of the Lord and when the bridegroom came back, He said, Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.

At the close of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord” shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the Will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in Your Name, and done many wonders in Your Name?” And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:21-23)

For those of you who have sat under the false teaching of once saved, always saved, please take the Words of our Savior to heart. Our daily walk with the Lord is representative of our Spiritual position. Jesus said You shall know them by their fruit. (Matthew 7:16) Our fruit is what we produce; not by works but by living a Spirit-filled life.

Paul words to the Galatians were written to every believer. I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:14-16)

Don’t take the chance. We are talking about whether or not we will go in the Rapture of the Church and where we will spend eternity. This is the most important subject there is. Read the Word of God for yourself. Come to your own conclusions.

As for me, I choose to be led by the Holy Spirit of God and maintain my faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. Don’t wait to make your choice.

He could come back today and……….turn the tide

Let by the Spirit,         Doreen
