Revelation 3:11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
Several times in the Bible we read where Jesus tells us that He is coming back for us; His Church; His Bride. While we wait for His return, we have great work to do. Our assignment is to do our part to build the Kingdom of God.
To the people in the church in Philadelphia, Jesus wrote Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. (Revelation 3:11) This would imply that their crown could be taken from them. We don’t exactly know what He meant by that but we do know that He IS coming and it will be QUICKLY; without prior notice. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the Last Trumpet. For the Trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:52)
Jesus is instructing us to Hold fast what you have, which is our faith in Christ and Him Crucified. This is the underlying theme of the entire Word of God. Faith in God and His Son is a must. Not just a moment of faith, an hour of faith, a time of faith, or a season of faith. The Word of God instructs us to live a life of faith; every day, all day long.
When our faith weakens, we are easy prey for the enemy to steal our joy and peace. It is only through continual faith in Christ that we can stand against the enemy. This is what Jesus meant when He said, Abide in Me. As we have said so many times, abide means to dwell there and remain there and we do this through our faith in Him.
A few days ago, we discussed the Parable of the Ten Virgins. The five that were left behind had let themselves become weak in their faith. They had drifted back into the world and when the bridegroom came, they were not being led by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, they were left behind.
Jesus said, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. (Luke 9:23) If we expect to go in the Rapture of the Church and one day make Heaven our home, we must deny ourselves and continually put Jesus and the Kingdom of God first. This means understanding that your life is not about you. Nothing is about you. It’s all about Him; Jesus. He gave His all for us. It’s reasonable that we give our all to Him.
The Apostle Paul said I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1) It’s only right that we give back to Jesus what He gave up for us, which is everything. We love Him because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
Hold fast. Abide in Him. He is coming to…...….turn the tide
Eternally grateful to Jesus Christ, my Lord, Doreen
