John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

The following is an excerpt from the American Patriot’s Bible:

 

During some of the darkest days of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln reminded his fellow Americans that we have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven. “To be born in a land of freedom, to live in a nation founded as ‘One Nation Under God’ by those who served the one, true God of the Bible, is both a tremendous privilege and a great responsibility.”

 

Abraham Lincoln spoke these words in the 1860’s. In this one sentence, President Lincoln said some very compelling things. First of all, this statement reminds us that while living in America is a tremendous privilege, and we have a responsibility to our nation. All of us has a responsibility to defend our nation and the republic for which it stands. This includes everything our Founding Fathers put down on paper in our Founding Documents that make this country unique and the greatest nation on earth.

 

As I read the words of President Lincoln, the phrase that jumped off the page at me was, those who served the one, true God of the Bible. 160 years ago, this great American understood that there were false gods but America was founded on the ONE true God of the Bible.

 

This is a lesson to be taught to our people today. America was NOT founded on the teachings of Allah, Buddha, Confucius, Brahman, Mohammed, Joseph Smith, or any other false god. America was founded on the one True God of the Bible, Jesus Christ, and we must never allow this to be changed.

 

This movement is alive and well in America today and it has been in effect for over seventy years. We have seen America be transformed right before our eyes but few have stood against it. We have run from it, but we have not stood for our core beliefs.

 

The Word of God tells us we are to come apart and be separate from the world but it does NOT say we are to take our Bible and hide. To do this is to operate in fear and we are not afraid! We love the Lord Jesus Christ and we are proud of our nation and the principles on which we were founded and upon which we stand today!

 

America serves the One True God of the Bible. Period. That’s who we are and that’s who we shall continue to be! The Body of Christ founded this country and has fought for this country. Now, more than ever, we must be willing to stop hiding and bravely take the responsibility placed upon us by our forefathers.

 

There has been a movement in our nation to change our Pledge of Allegiance to remove the words, “One nation under God.” Perhaps we should change our Pledge of Allegiance. Let's change it to read, “One nation under the one true God of the Bible, Jesus Christ.” It is He we serve. It is He our Founding Fathers served. It is He who is written about in all our Founding Documents. Let us pray for courage to stand and defend Him in this great land; the land of the free and the home of the brave!
