Mark 16:18 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into Heaven, and sat down at the Right Hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. Amen
The final sentence in the Book of Mark describes God’s Plan for His Church. It reads, And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. Let’s break it down phrase by phrase.
And they went out This would indicate that they did not sit in their homes and wait for people to come to them. They went out into the streets and preached the Gospel of Christ. There were no church buildings to preach in so they preached outside to whoever would gather to listen. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the Power of God unto Salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
Preached everywhere There was no boundary to their ministry. They went out in every direction because it is God’s Will that all be saved and the only way for people to be saved is to hear the Gospel of Christ preached. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)
The Lord working with them The Holy Spirit worked with them as they went out to preach the Gospel. God will never leave us alone to do His Work. We are to be led by the Spirit at all times and not devise our own plan. The Lord WILL go with us when we invite Him to go. He WILL give us the words to say when we ask and allow Him to speak through us. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (John 14:26) The ministry of the Church is to be a continuation of the Ministry of Jesus. Therefore, we must listen to the Voice of the Holy Spirit and speak ONLY what He tells us to say. He will remind us of the Words of Jesus and how He Ministered. What could be better than that?
confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. The Word of God will be confirmed by accompanying Miracles, Signs, and Wonders. When we speak the Truth of the Gospel and what the Holy Spirit directs us to speak, we will see supernatural things happen. This is the proof of the Power of God.
When we do our part with pure motives and speak what the Spirit leads us to speak, the result will be Miraculous and God will receive all the glory. We deserve nothing. He is worthy of it all. Let the Lord be glorified!
Give God the glory. Only He can……….turn the tide
To God be the glory great things He hath done, Doreen
