Accounted As Righteousness

Romans 4:3 Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for Righteousness.

The goal in the life of every believer is to acquire Righteousness which is to be found right in the Eyes of God. This has been the case throughout all of history and the ONLY way to Righteousness is through faith.

In Old Testament times, God’s people placed their faith in the Sacrifices made for their sins. They also believed in the coming Messiah of whom the Prophets spoke. They believed the Word of God and they looked forward to the Messiah to come. This faith was accounted to them as Righteousness and they were counted among the Saints of God.

Abraham is known as the Father of Faith. He believed and trusted God implicitly and his unwavering faith was accounted to him for Righteousness. And he (Abraham) believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for Righteousness. (Genesis 15:6) Because Abraham believed (had faith in) the Lord, God accounted it to him as Righteousness. Much later Paul wrote that Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for Righteousness. (Romans 4:3) Paul also wrote For the Promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the Righteousness of faith. (Romans 4:13)

If our goal in life is to be found Righteous in the Eyes of God, the only way to acquire this is through faith. The question is, faith in what? As New Covenant believers, Righteousness is accounted to us through faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. That is the event that brought about the greatest change in all of human history, that being the Final Blood Sacrifice for the sins of the world.

This was God’s Plan for people going forward to be Saved; Redeemed; Justified; found Righteous in the Eye of God. This is possible for every living person on earth. It is God’s Will that everyone come to the knowledge of the Truth of the Gospel of Christ and be Saved. However, there is only one way to do this. Jesus said it. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, but by Me. (John 14:6)

God does not make several ways to do anything. There is One Way; One Road; One Faith. All else is false and will lead to destruction. The Way of the Lord is Life; Abundant Life now and Eternal Life in Heaven. Place your faith exclusively in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary and it will be accounted to you for Righteousness. There is no other way.

Faith in Christ alone will…..…….turn the tide...……..in your life.
