Aim To Please

Psalms 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.

Yesterday, we discussed the fact that the subject of History is actually written accounts of the Story of God. In early years it was known as His Story and then shortened to History. People who write History are called Historians and those who are eyewitnesses to such happenings are the most credible.

The Bible is a History Book written by people who were eyewitnesses to events in the past. Everything we read in the Bible (other than the Book of Revelation) actually happened. We are actually living in the days written about in the Book of Revelation now. Yes, we are a part of His Story today.

The Bible is not a book of fairytales and myths as some may think. Rather, it is a true accounting of happenings that the Holy Spirit deems necessary for us to know so we can live Righteous lives pleasing to God. Every Word in the Bible has been inspired by the Holy Spirit, Who is God. All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We live in God’s world. The earth and everything in it belong to Him. The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. (Psalms 24:1) We just live here for as many days as He sees fit. God created all of us and He loves every one of us. He wants us to live Righteous lives. His Will is for us to want to please Him. This is why He gave us His Word (the Bible) to live by. It is supposed to be our Manual for living. We could call it a Handbook or Instruction Guide for Life. Unfortunately, few read it or refer to it and that’s why the world is in the horrible condition it is.

God has a part for each of us to play in His Story. He created each of us for a specific purpose in His Story. He knows that we are all born with a sin nature. He knows we are sinners and that the wages of sin is death. He knows everything. He made the rules. That’s why He sent His Son to die on the Cross of Calvary! His Will is for every person on earth to hear the Message of the Cross of Christ, believe it, and be Saved and born again! Then and ONLY then, we can begin to live out His Purpose for our lives in His Story.

Yes, whether people like it or not, this world is all about Him. It’s all His Story and if we will listen to His Voice, read His Word, and obey His Commands, we can have a part in it. Think about that! The Apostle Paul wrote Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. (1 Corinthians 5:9) From this Scripture, we get the saying “I aim to please.” Let us live our lives in such a way that we aim to please God. That’s why He created us. Today is the day to take aim because…..

He is about to……..….turn the tide

I aim to please Him,         Doreen
