Isaiah 5:11-12 Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may follow intoxicating drink; Who continue until night, till wine inflames them! The harp and the strings, the tambourine and flute, and wine are in their feasts; But they do not regard the work of the Lord, nor consider the operation of His Hands.
This is the second “woe” and like the first we discussed yesterday, we see this lifestyle all around us today. The people described here are pleasure seekers. God makes it clear that trouble will come to those who drink alcohol from morning until night and who participate in wild parties with music that is not pleasing to the Lord.
Alcohol and other mind-altering substances have always been a problem and today it has even crept into the Church, namely wine. To many, wine has become the beverage of choice and it is not uncommon to find it in the homes of Christians and in the church itself. All you need do is scroll through facebook and you may be astounded at what you find.
No alcoholic took his first drink with the intention of becoming an alcoholic. Nor did anyone hooked on cigarettes or drugs (legal or illegal) wanted to become an addict. This is the work of the enemy who comes only to kill, steal and destroy. All types of alcohol and all mind-altering drugs rob people of their ability to think clearly and conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner.
God gifts people with the ability to play musical instruments for the sole purpose of glorifying and worshiping Him. Lucifer was the “choir director” in Heaven before God evicted him for pride. He knows about music and since the time God banished him, he has been using music in an attempt to destroy the Kingdom of God. This is his goal and he attacks people and uses them to do it.
With every passing year, it gets worse and worse. It used to be subtle and somewhat hidden but now much of the music is openly satanic. We witnessed a perfect example of this last month at the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris, France. Millions of our young people today have been sucked into all this and it is resulting in an ungodly society filled with people described here in the Fifth Chapter of Isaiah.
The following is what God’s Word says will happen to these people if they don’t repent and change their ways: Therefore my people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge; their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore Hell has enlarged itself and opened its mouth beyond measure; Their glory and their multitude and their pomp, and he who is jubilant, shall descend into it. People shall be brought down, each man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled. But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God who is Holy shall be hallowed in Righteousness. Then the lambs shall feed in their pasture, and in the waste places of the fat ones strangers shall eat.
As a whole, Americans (including much of the Body of Christ) could be described as, "fat, dumb and happy." We are overfed, indulgers of the world, who are "dumb" to the Word of God and we are not good stewards of what God has given us. Therefore, much of what we have turns to waste. So, to answer the first two questions, We are the "fat ones" and anything we don't want becomes a "place of waste."
Who are the "strangers?" We have many “strangers” in America today. Muslims are coming in by the thousands and taking over entire cities and imposing Sharia Law. China is buying up land in our country, growing food and sending it back to China. Illegal immigrants are here by the millions taking jobs from American citizens who do not have enough knowledge of the Word of God to know that God’s people are to work and provide for their families.
It’s time for God’s people to open the Word of God, read it to their families, and LIVE IT! God said there is one reason: because they have no knowledge; The only "knowledge" that is important is knowledge of the Word of God. Therein lies the answers to all our questions. Without God and His Word in America, trouble will prevail. We are watching this unfold right before our eyes. God's people must WAKE UP!
Lord forgive us and WAKE US! Please God,……..turn the tide
