Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Everyone who chose to follow Jesus left their prior life. The old man died and they became a new creation when they were saved by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. During the time of the First Century Church, thousands of Jews were converting to Christianity on a daily basis. They all turned from the ways of the Law and embraced Salvation by the Grace of God through their faith in the shed Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing has changed to this day. Everyone is still saved the exact same way. God does not change.

We have been studying about the power and position of the Priests, Pharisees, and Sadducees in those days. They were men of high distinction and they controlled the people. There was no middle class at that time.

However, even some of the highest members of the religious hierarchy came to know the Lord and believe in Him. Two men that come to mind are Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathaea. We know these two men held high positions in the Synagogue because the Bible tells us so. There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: (John 3:1) Joseph of Arimathaea, an honorable counsellor, which also waited for the Kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the Body of Jesus. (Mark 15:43)

As we read and study the Book of Acts and the writings of Josephus and other Historians, we do not find these two men’s names mentioned again as members of the Pharisees or Sadducees. That would indicate that they both resigned from their positions. They gave up their power, prestige, and position to follow Christ.

Jesus said, No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24) When Jesus calls someone to follow Him, we are to leave the world behind and go with Him. That means we are to denounce all worldly positions and put Him FIRST and FOREMOST in our lives. Nothing is more important than our relationship with Jesus. He must be our One and Only.

Is Jesus and the Kingdom of God your One and Only? Have you given up your position in this evil world to follow Him? Worldly positions are always controlled by money. Money dictates everything. The more devoted we are to the organization or cause, the more money we are given. My friends, all the money in the world cannot buy you Salvation. You cannot serve two masters. You have to choose. Will you serve money and this world or will you serve the Lord Jesus Christ? Are you willing to give your all to the Kingdom of God? The choice is yours and you MUST choose. Your eternal destiny is at stake. What do you choose today?

Time is very short. God will soon……..….…….turn the tide

I choose Jesus. I’m all in!         Doreen
