Matthew 12:36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the Day of Judgment.

 

There is some confusion among believers about the coming Judgment of God. Everyone will give an account and answer to God. In God’s eyes, there are only two types of people, the saved and the unsaved. The Word of God refers to saved people as living and the unsaved as dead.

 

Because there are two types of people, likewise there are two places of Judgment, the Judgment Seat of Christ and the Great White Throne Judgment. These are not the same. One is for the living (saved) and the other is for the dead (unsaved).

 

All unsaved (spiritually dead) people will stand before the Great White Throne Judgment. Then I saw a Great White Throne and Him who sat on it, from whose Face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and Books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire. (Revelation 20:11-15)

 

This is pretty self-explanatory but in short, everyone who did not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior during their lifetime will stand before God at the Great White Throne Judgment. When unsaved people die, their souls are cast into Hades where they remain until the time of the Great White Throne Judgment. At that time they will all be judged according to their works and be sentenced to eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire.

 

Every saved person (those who have accepted Christ as Savior and Lord) will appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ. For we must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10) At this time we will also give account for our life’s work in the Kingdom of God. This will take place just prior to the Second Coming which will begin the 1,000 year Kingdom Age, also known as the Millennial Age.

 

Because saved people have been Redeemed by the shed Blood of Christ on the Cross of Calvary, all their sins have been forgiven and cast into the Sea of Forgetfulness. Every sin of a Redeemed person is removed from God as far as the east is to the west. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalms 103:12)

 

Therefore, all saved people (the living) will not be judged but rewarded! The Judgment Seat of Christ is where each born-again believer in Christ will be issued their rewards for the work they did in the Kingdom during their lifetime. At that time, each one will be given their assignment and position during the 1,000 year Kingdom Age when Jesus will rule as King over the entire world.

 

God’s Will is for everyone to be saved; redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. I pray you are saved and your name is written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life because the best is yet to come. Hallelujah!
