Alpha And The Omega

Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.”

Corinth was an interesting city, to say the least. The Apostle Paul came up against great opposition from the Jewish community, and all types of sin ran rampant everywhere. However, on the other hand, Paul made great strides with his Message of the Gospel of Christ and many believed and were baptized.

In Acts 18: 9-10 we read that the Lord came to Paul in a vision and gave him some instructions. Then spoke the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision. Be not afraid, but speak and hold not your peace. For I am with you, and no man shall set on you to hurt you: For I have much people in this city.

These words would indicate that while Paul was making strides in Corinth, he had some sort of fear. He may have been afraid that he was going to be put in prison, thrown out of the city, or even killed. All of this could very well have happened but these Words of the Lord brought a sense of Peace to Paul and encouraged him to be bold not hold back.

The last sentence is the really interesting part. For I have much people in this city. God had great plans for the City of Corinth. He knew that there would be many who would accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

You see, God knows the beginning from the end. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 21:6) I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 22:13) I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8)

Paul had total faith in God. He knew the Voice of God when he heard it. He believed with everything in him that he could trust and believe what the Lord said. Paul understood that God already knew the people that would come into the fold of Christ through his teaching and preaching. All Paul needed was a word of encouragement from the Lord, and that night, through that Vision, he got it.

God knows what lies ahead for you. He is still God. He is still the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Seek the Lord for clear direction and He will give it to you. Ask and it shall be given unto you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. (Matthew 7:7) You have not because you ask not. (James 4:2)

Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him. Then, BE STILL AND LISTEN. He stands ready to answer you. In fact, He already knows what you are going to ask! Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. (Matthew 6:8)

Ask Him and He will……….turn the tide……...in your life.
