Ambassadors Have Responsibility
October 19, 2021, 3:00 AM

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

For the past month we have been discussing the Benefits of being a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. In actuality, the Benefits are countless and without limits but in an attempt to put them into a “Benefit Package” we have been creating somewhat of a list. This list begins with: FORGIVENESS, HEALING, DELIVERANCE, LOVING KINDNESS, MERCY, PROVISION, AUTHORITY and POWER. This is quite a list already but it is only the tip of the iceberg!

Yesterday we addressed the fact that we are all in the Army of God on the side of His Kingdom of Heaven and Light. We are God’s Ambassadors for Good in this world. This is a privilege allotted only to born again Christians and is associated with our Benefits of Authority and Power. An Ambassador is a person who represents their leader in a foreign land. Our Leader is Jesus Christ. He is our King and as His Ambassadors we have the Authority and Power to speak and act on His behalf.

Several days ago we discussed the fact that the Promises of God come with conditions, the Benefits come with provisions and the Authority comes with responsibility. As Ambassadors of Christ, we have been given Authority and Power but we also must understand that along with the Authority and Power comes RESPONSIBILITY.

This is extremely important because many (if not most) Christians have no idea of the responsibility they have in the Army of God to both defend and expand the Kingdom of Heaven.

Authority and Power always comes with Responsibility. A police officer has the authority (his badge) and the power (his gun) to enforce the law of the land but they also have the responsibility of defending their jurisdiction and the Constitution of their nation under the orders of the Chief of Police or Sheriff. They take an oath to do so. The same is true with those who serve in all branches of the military.

The Kingdom of Heaven is no different. The Apostle Paul wrote: Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:20) To be reconciled to God means to be consistent with God; aligned with Him. The Word of God is our Constitution. We are to defend it at all cost and live according to it’s teachings as we are representatives of our King Jesus.

As you can see, the Benefits of being a Christian are accompanied with Responsibility. God equips us and empowers us to do great things for the Kingdom of Heaven but we also must act in a responsible manner in accordance with the Word of God.

We serve an Awesome God. He is a good, good Father who will not put more on us than we can bear. We are at war with the kingdom of darkness. It’s time to step up, walk in the Authority and Power we have been given while being consistent with the Word of God at all times.

The time is now. God is about to……….turn the tide
