Another Helper

John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.

The Holy Spirit is Jesus’ replacement on Earth. He is not only with us but He is in us. He dwells in the heart and life of every born-again believer. For the past few days, we have been discussing the different roles of the Holy Spirit in the life of all believers.

He is our Helper. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, (John 14:26) Jesus had been with them for more than three years. He helped them with all their problems. Now, He would be leaving but He promised to send them a Helper; a replacement. That Helper is the Holy Spirit Who was sent in Jesus’ Name. That means He was sent to us as a representative of Jesus.

He is our Teacher. He will teach you all things. (John 14:26) Jesus had been their Teacher. He had taught them so much about life and godliness. The Holy Spirit would now become their Teacher.

He is our Reminder. And bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John 14:26) The Holy Spirit causes us to remember the Words of Jesus, Who is the Word of God. (John 1:14) Therefore, when we recall a particular Passage of Scripture, the Holy Spirit is actually causing us to remember the Words of Jesus.

He is our Guide. However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. (John 16:13) The Holy Spirit will never lead us astray. He will never put us on the wide road which leads to destruction. Without Him we are on a self-guided tour through life without instructions or a road map. We wander around and get in trouble. We make mistakes; big mistakes. We get hurt and we hurt others. However, with the Holy Spirit as our Guide (if we listen to His Voice and obey His Instructions) He will keep us on the Narrow Road that leads to Truth and Life. Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

The Holy Spirit will never leave you nor forsake you. He is sent by the Father to be all the Help you need in this world. Listen for His Voice and obey. You will never regret this decision.

The Holy Spirit will…………..turn the tide …….in your life.

Listening closely,        Doreen
