Armed Against The Enemy

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

Ephesians 6:12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The world has always been a representation of good and evil, including the games children play, movies, television shows, and books. The natural world is an ongoing war of good versus evil. However, the war we face every day in the spiritual world is far greater and more intense than anything life offers in the natural.

The Bible tells us that spiritual warfare is real. This has always been an ongoing battle between Good and evil the Apostle Paul wrote about in his letters to the Ephesians and the Corinthians.  He said, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. To the Ephesians he wrote, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,

There has always been war among the nations of the world and millions of people have lost their lives fighting natural battles, but this is not what Paul is writing about. The battle we face in the spiritual world is far, far greater than any natural war.

In all wars, there are two sides. Spiritual warfare is no different; there are two sides.  All militaries have ranks from generals all the way down to the foot soldier. Spiritual warfare is the same. As believers, we are on God's side in this battle. Our enemy is Satan and his army is extremely organized with many demons and evil spirits who torment God’s people in an ongoing battle.

In the tenth chapter of Daniel we read where Daniel was seeking a word from God. After praying and fasting for three weeks an Angel appeared. Why did it take so long? The Angel of the Lord explained what happened in verse 13. Then he (the Angel) continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the Chief Princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.  Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”

God heard Daniel’s plea for understanding and sent the Angel to him. However, the prince of the Persian kingdom (Satan) fought with him for twenty-one days until the Archangel Michael came to help him. This is a perfect example of the spiritual war that goes on all the time. God’s people want to hear from God. We want to live our lives pleasing to God but Satan fights us every step of the way.  It is war and as believers, we are right in the middle of it.

Most people choose to ignore these facts, but it is spelled out extremely clearly in the Word of God. He explains it, but people simply don’t want to accept the fact that although we live in the flesh, our war is not with the flesh. The real battle we face every day is not against flesh and blood but against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. This is a description of Satan's army of demons that we face every day.

The good news is, we can win! We can have Victory over the enemy! Jesus said so! ! !  Mark 16:17  And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; We have been given the weapons to win the battle. All we have to do is use them!

The Name of Jesus will……….turn the tide
