1 Corinthians 1:23-24 but we preach Christ Crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.

Throughout all of history, man has sought after God. In the heart of every human being is the knowledge that God exists. God put that knowledge in our hearts when He created us. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Salvation has always been available to people even in Old Testament times, before Christ. Salvation is and always has been about believing in and trusting God no matter the circumstances. In good times and in bad times, those who are truly Saved will trust in God. This is faith; the faith required to be Saved.

Since the beginning of mankind, God has been the source of Salvation. Only God can deliver people from danger in this world and Promise Eternal Life ahead. The Covenant Promises of God are worthy of standing on. We can trust in Him and His Promises.

In Old Testament times, people placed their faith in the Messiah to come Who would be their Redeemer. They believed in Him because the Prophets spoke it. They believed in the Word of God spoken through the Prophets. Not a Word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the House of Israel. All came to pass. (Joshua 21:45) They believed God’s Word was true and they lived by faith in the Promises and Prophecies of God.

As New Testament believers, our Salvation is based on our faith in what Christ did on the Cross of Calvary. If Jesus had not gone to the Cross, we would have nothing to base our faith on. It was His Crucifixion and Resurrection that causes us to have confidence in God. Because of the Finished Work of Christ, we can place our faith solely in God and His all His Promises.

Peter said, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious Promises, that through these you may be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2 Peter 1:4)

Old Testament saints were not partakers of the Divine Nature. Their faith was based on making daily animal sacrifices for their sins but we know that the blood of animals (which was the Law) would only COVER their sins. And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. (Hebrews 10:11)

The Blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross TOOK AWAY our sins! He did it all on the Cross that Day. That’s why He said, IT IS FINISHED! (John 19:30) Jesus is our Way to God. His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary is the means by which we get to Him. It’s all about what Jesus accomplished on the Cross.

Place your faith in the Cross and God will……….turn the tide……….In your life.
