Atonement

Colossians 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

The Provisions of the Atonement are many and few people thoroughly understand this. Most people do understand that Jesus went to the Cross for the Forgiveness of their sins and by believing in Him they will have Eternal Life in Heaven.

While this is absolutely true and the best news we could ever have, there is far more to the Atonement than this. But God demonstrates His own Love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been Justified by His Blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His Life! (Romans 5:8-10)

The Benefits of the Atonement include everything Satan stole from humanity when he convinced Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit. Up to that time, there was no sin in the world. Likewise, there was no sickness, disease, poverty, hate, malice, guilt, shame or unrighteousness. Adam and Eve were perfect human beings in every way. Also, there were no poisonous plants, insects, or animals on Earth. The animals were all vegetarians and did not kill and eat each other. The Earth was a place of total Peace and Tranquility full of the Love of God, the Creator.

However, when Adam and Eve fell into sin, everything changed. All the evil and bad that we know today happened because of their fall. Jesus came to restore Peace to the people on Earth. God loved His Creation so much, that He sent His Only Son to be the Blood Sacrifice (Atonement) for the sins of the entire world. This was the reason Jesus came to live on Earth. He was born to die on the Cross of Calvary. This was His Purpose for living and He fulfilled it completely.

When Jesus was Crucified on the Cross of Calvary the Atonement was complete. He paid the price for every sin that had ever been made or would ever be made in the future. This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he wrote Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)

Because of the Cross of Christ, we don’t have to live in sin. Sin shall no longer have dominion over you. (Romans 6:14) We can live in total Peace. And the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)

Everything the enemy stole from mankind was nailed to the Cross by Jesus. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. (Colossians 2:14) This is all part of the Atonement. God didn't forget anything. Absolutely everything Satan took from us was Atoned for by Jesus. Hallelujah!

Faith in Christ Crucified will………..turn the tide……..in your life.
