Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
For the past few days, we have been discussing the Letter to the church at Thyatira which is found in the 2nd Chapter of Revelation. The spirit of Jezebel was ministering to some of the people which caused them to do evil things. However, some believers in that church stood strong against this demonic spirit and went about praising God and serving Him. These were the overcomers who will be rewarded in the coming Kingdom Age.
Throughout the Word of God, we are warned against associating with people who have succumbed to the ministry of the Devil. It doesn’t matter who these people are, we are to avoid them. The Apostle Paul instructed believers in this regard. Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the Doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. (Romans 16:17)
To the Church in Corinth, Paul wrote: Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good character. (1 Corinthians 15:33) And to the Ephesians, he wrote: For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the Wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them…...And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. (Ephesians 5:3-7;11)
Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, wrote: Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; and their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. (Proverbs 4:14-17)
Our instructions are made clear in the Word of God. Do not associate with evil people. Our only association with them should be to lead them to Christ. Never enter into their evil practices with them. We are to be the Light in this dark world. Therefore come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you. (2 Corinthians 6:17)
Jesus showed us the way when He said: Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)
Heed the Word of God. Listen and obey. Stay on the narrow road that leads to life. Avoid everything and everyone who is evil. Seek the Lord God with all your heart, mind, and soul.
He will direct your path and…...….turn the tide……….in your life.
Thank you Lord for the narrow road, Doreen
