Proverbs 6:9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?
The following are a few questions for every believer in Jesus Christ. How long will you lie in bed, asleep while the House of God is under attack? How long will you lay in the warmth and comfort of your bed in your home and expect someone else to do your part? How long will you ignore the problem and believe it has no effect on you and your family?
But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22) God does not tolerate laziness. His Word is filled with Scripture about every person doing their part. We must be doers of the Word. Anything else is being lazy in the Eyes of God and we will all answer to Him for being lazy.
Every lesson in the Word of God can be taken both naturally and spiritually. The natural affects our natural lives in the here and now. The spiritual affects the natural and the eternal. When we get the spiritual right, every aspect of the natural will fall in line.
We are first and foremost, spiritual beings. Jesus said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) Seek the spiritual first. Seek after God with all your heart. Seek to do the Father’s Will constantly. To be awake and thriving spiritually is to seek God’s Will on a continual basis; every minute of every day.
This lifestyle is living in the First Commandment. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3) Jesus said it like this: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul. (Matthew 22:37) THEN, God will bless your natural life and you will know the peace that passes understanding and the abundant life Jesus died for you to have.
This is only obtained by being spiritually awake. Sleepers are not doers. Sluggards are not useful. Spiritually lazy people are of little use to the Kingdom of God. Wake up! God is calling you to be a part of His Team! There is work to be done! The enemy is in the camp!
This is not just a bad dream that will be gone tomorrow. Every day the Church remains asleep, it only gets worse. Wake up, and wake your family up! Wake your neighbors! And above all, wake your pastor because most of them are dead asleep.
When the Church is awakened, God will…….. turn the tide
