Being Sanctified

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being Sanctified.

Jesus died once and for all for the sins of every person in the whole world. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. (Romans 6:10) This is the Good News of the Gospel of Christ. Those who choose to believe in Jesus and His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary are Saved and have the ability to live an Abundant Life here on earth and spend eternity in Heaven with God.

However, Abundant Life comes about progressively. Some things do change immediately, but most take time. When Jesus died on the Cross, His Work was finished. (John 19:30) It happened in that instant but the Holy Spirit’s Work of Sanctification in us comes bout over time.

In Hebrews 10:14 we read For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being Sanctified. The one offering spoken of here refers to the Sacrifice of God’s Only Son on the Cross of Calvary. It happened once because the perfect Blood of Jesus was enough to pay for all the sins of the entire world.

However, His Sacrifice and God’s Forgiveness and Sanctification are only for those who believe in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. These are those who are being Sanctified. We see by these Words that every born-again believer is being Sanctified. That means that we are undergoing the life-long process of conviction and correction.

The word sanctification has two meanings. The first definition is to be set apart for the Service of God. Upon our Conversion, we are immediately set apart from the world. We are separated from the world by the Hand of God to be used by Him in His Kingdom.

The second definition is to be transformed from the old man into the new man. This is a process that takes place over our entire lifetime. It is not instantaneous. As we come under the conviction of the Holy Spirit about something in our lives that is not right, we lay it down and God transforms it into something Righteous and Holy. This is what it means for those of us who are being Sanctified.

Don’t be concerned about the fact that everything in your life is not perfect. No one is! Just pray for the Holy Spirit to convict you of those things that need to change. He will, and when He does, accept His Correction and repent. He will then transform this part of your old man and it will become part of the new man. This is the Miraculous Work of the Holy Spirit of God in those who are being Sanctified.

The Holy Spirit is at work to……….turn the tide……….in your life.
