Between The Lines

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His Secret to His Servants the Prophets.

I remember when I was in elementary school, I first heard the term “read between the lines.” It seemed so odd to me. What does the teacher mean, read between the lines. There is nothing there between the lines but blank space. We all know that this is speaking of symbolism, hidden information or implied meanings that are not clearly spelled out in the text.

The Word of God is FULL of such symbolism. Jesus spoke in parables to cause the people to understand His point spiritually and naturally. To understand God’s Word, we must be able to read between the lines.

What is so interesting and amazing to me, is that the more I look between the lines, the more I find! The teachings of the Bible are never-ending. There is always more to learn and it’s right there, between the lines!

First and foremost, the ENTIRE Bible is the story of Jesus, God’s Plan for the Redemption of man. Every story and account point us to Jesus and His Sacrifice for our sins. All this can be found between the lines of the Written Word of God.

When you begin to read the Bible in search of the hidden meaning, you will find it. In fact, you will find more and more all the time. That is why it is called the “Living Word.” No one can ever exhaust the Word of God. It is unending and inexhaustible. It is absolutely AMAZING what you will find between the lines!

Every Word in the Word of God has meaning and importance. God does not do things without reason. He uses numbers, colors, names, dates, and everything else to point us to Jesus, His Redemption Plan, Israel and the Jewish people, the Rapture (or Resurrection of the Church) His Second Coming, and the Kingdom Age. Not to mention, how we are to conduct our lives as believers.

The Word of God truly is amazing and unfortunately, most people (if they read it at all) never look for what is between the lines, where we find the deep, hidden meanings and Prophecies of God.

Nothing could be more foolish than to not pray for understanding of the Word of God.  Hear this now, O foolish people, Without understanding, Who have eyes and see not, And who have ears and hear not. (Jeremiah 5:21)

God has given you eyes to see, ears to hear, a mind to understand, and a heart to seek after Him. Seek Him. Seek understanding and wisdom of His Word. Now is the time for God's people to rise up and not be foolish but seek Him with all our hearts! Now is the time.

When God’s people seek Him, He will……..turn the tide

Reading between the lines,      Doreen
