Matthew 18:18 Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.

 

Fifteen years ago the Lord said: Create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can work in the lives of those who come. This has been my quest since that time here at Betts Ministries in Caney, OK.

 

There are three parts to this Command the Lord spoke to me. 1. Create an atmosphere. 2. Where the Holy Spirit can work. 3. In the lives of those who come.

 

God never calls us to do something that is not possible. Therefore, it is possible to create such an atmosphere. We touched on this briefly yesterday. One of the key elements to creating such an atmosphere is spiritual cleanliness. We know that we constantly fight a spiritual battle. Satan and his demonic spirits are in a continual war with God and His Righteous Spirits. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:12-13)

 

As we learn to discern the origin of the spirits ministering in our midst, we can then take up the Power Jesus gave us to bind, rebuke, and cast out all demonic spirits, and loose (release) the Presence of the Holy Spirit to minister there. When we do this, the spiritual condition of the atmosphere changes for the better. Jesus said, Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven. (Matthew 18:18)

 

Binding and casting out demonic spirits is only half the battle. We must then loose the Presence of the Holy Spirit to operate. This is one of the most important things in ministry and unfortunately, few know anything about it. Jesus taught this and we will be well advised to learn it. When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, “I will return to my house from which I came.” And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation. (Matthew 12:43-45)

 

If we don’t want the situation to be seven times worse, we MUST loose (release) the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit to minister there. This pertains to people, animals, buildings, and places. I like to use the analogy of ridding your house of bugs and rodents. To do this we call an exterminator and they kill all the bugs and drive out all the mice, rats, and snakes. Our house is now clean. However, if we don’t keep our house clean, spray with insecticide, set traps for rodents, and leave all the doors open, our house will quickly become worse than it was, to begin with. The Presence of the Holy Spirit is our guard against the enemy and all his demonic spirits. However, the only way we can loose the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit to operate and minister is through our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. This is why it is so important to believe in all that Jesus accomplished on the Cross to defeat the power of the enemy in our lives. Jesus did the work. It’s done. The Holy Spirit enforces it.

 

 

Faith in the Finished Work of Christ will….…….turn the tide
