Acts 8:3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the Church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
There were many men who hated the Church and participated in its persecution. However, the Word of God specifically calls out Saul because as we read on in the Book of Acts, we will see one of the greatest transformations in a man’s life in all of history.
In the 8th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we read about how mean and hateful Saul was toward the Church. He went from house to house wreaking havoc and arresting both men and women who professed their faith in Christ. Saul was extremely educated in the Jewish religion and absolutely HATED the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and every follower. He had the power and the authority to do whatever he wanted, and he did.
However, their persecution only made the believers stronger! Those Christians who were truly sold out to Christ stood strong in their faith and became the pillars of the Christian Church. While all people are trying to get to God, Christians know that there is only one Way and that is through faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by Me. (John 14:6)
This is what the Jews, Romans, and all the other heathens absolutely hated about Christians. They hated Jesus and they hated the Truth about Who He was: the Only Begotten Son of God; the Messiah; the ONLY Way to God, the Father.
My friends, nothing has changed. Down through the ages, Christians have been persecuted for their faith. Stephen was the first Martyr for Christ but he was by no means the last. Thousands (if not millions) have been martyred for their faith in Jesus and we are still seeing this today. This is the threat against Christians in America and other countries around the world today.
The question is not if we will be persecuted. We are being persecuted today. The question is: Will Christians have the faith to stand against persecution? Will we be bold in our faith like the Christians in the Book of Acts or will we bow down to the persecution of the government and the Sauls of today?
We MUST stand and not cave to the persecution. Speak the Name of Jesus everywhere. Wear His Name on your clothing. Post His Name on billboards. Support Christian radio channels. Use social media to share the Gospel and tell of His excellent greatness! Be bold! Don’t back down! Today is the day to stand like we have never stood before and LOUDLY proclaim our faith in Christ and Him Crucified. Proclaim His Name EVERYWHERE! ! !
The Name of Jesus will……….turn the tide……..in this world.
Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Doreen
