Acts 4:29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: And grant unto your servants, that with all boldness they may speak your Word.

 

Time and time again, we find the Word of God calling the people of God to take a bold stand to speak the Word of God. Just as it was for all believers throughout history, this is God’s Command to us today. The Truth of the Word of God must be spoken. We cannot expect the lost world to speak God’s Word. This is our job as Jesus Commanded us to do. Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

 

Will we be threatened? Yes. Will we be persecuted? Yes. Will we be scrutinized? Yes. Peter and John knew full well what they were up against but they also knew the Divine Call on their lives and to this Call, they would commit their lives.

 

We, the Body of Christ, each have that same Divine Call on our lives. God did not force Peter and John to obey. Nor does He force any of us to obey Him. Obedience is a choice every believer must make. There are only two choices in this matter: Obedience or rebellion. We each have been given the freewill to make that choice.

 

James, Jesus’ half-brother, said, Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4:17) In the heart of every human being is the knowing of right and wrong. A little child knows when they are lying. They know when they are doing something wrong. We all know right from wrong. To obey God is right. Not to obey Him is rebellion. This is wrong and we know it. Therefore, if we know something is wrong and we do it anyway, it is sin and for these things we are called to repent.

 

God’s Mercy is great. He wants us to repent because He wants to forgive us. He wants us to turn from our wicked ways and live our lives in total obedience to His Word. If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

 

Repentance is a Gift of God granted to every born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. God stands ready to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He wants to throw our sins into the Sea of Forgetfulness, cast them as far as the east is from the west, and remember them no more.

 

God knows you are being threatened. He is allowing this to happen so you will trust Him more. The Holy Spirit of God will fight for you when you stop trying to win on your own. You are fighting a battle that is God’s to fight. You will win this battle with the Holy Word of God. No demon, evil spirit, or Satan himself can stand against it. Speak the Word of God into the situation. Speak the Name of Jesus to those who threaten you and watch God Almighty bring Victory to your life. Hallelujah!
