Bride Of Christ

Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Yesterday, we discussed the fact that as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are the Body of Christ. Our Ministry is to be His Hands and Feet; the continuation of His Ministry here on earth. When we were born again, we became a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) with the Mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16)

All born-again believers are God’s children. We are all equal in His Sight. We each have a different role to play in the Kingdom but no one is better than anyone else. God does not play favorites. He treats us all equally because we are all equal. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34)

God does not see the color of our skin or our ethnicity. He knows who we are. He created us! There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28) We are all equal in the Kingdom. God uses every one of us.

In the 5th Chapter of the Book of Ephesians, we are given instructions about how married people are to treat their spouses. Take time to read Ephesians 5:22-33. Right in the middle of it, Paul wrote, This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (Ephesians 5:32) While this Passage of Scripture is God’s Plan for a Godly marriage it also tells us that we, the Body of Christ, are also the Bride of Christ.

In Biblical times, a bride was separated from the bridegroom until the wedding. During that time, the bride was to be faithful to her future husband. This is a picture of the Bride of Christ (believers) faithfully waiting for the return of the bridegroom (Christ). For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:2)

At the Rapture of the Church, Jesus, the Bridegroom, will return for His Bride. For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the Voice of an Archangel, and with the Trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

My friends, we are the Bride of Christ. We await His return at any time. We must be ready. We must remain faithful to Him while we wait. He is coming back for us. In that, you can be sure. When? We do not know but He is coming.

Every Prophecy in the Bible has been fulfilled up until the Rapture of the Church. Do not lose hope in His return. I believe it will happen soon. Remain faithful to Him while you wait. It won’t be long now.

He’s coming back to……….turn the tide

Eagerly waiting for His return,         Doreen
