Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
We read a lot about two important people in the New Testament but these people do not have names. They are simply known as the old man and the new man. Every person on earth is the old man until they come to Salvation through their faith in Jesus Christ. At that point, they are born again and the Holy Spirit of God begins to transform them into the new man.
The old man and the new man are totally opposite to each other. The old man is the product of Satan and his lies. He is corrupt in every sense of the word. The new man, on the other hand, is the product of the Word of God which is Righteousness and Holiness.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the people in the various churches in the region about these two men. Although they had heard the Gospel of Christ preached and had given their hearts to Him, they were still living as the old man. Unfortunately, this is still the case with much of the church today. How can this be? How can people be saved and born again and still live a corrupt lifestyle?
It happens when people have knowledge of Jesus and His Sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, but they have not agreed to die to themselves. They like the old man and want to continue in that evil lifestyle and be Saved at the same time. This is not possible. Paul wrote I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)
The goal in the life of every Christian should be to become the new man. That means we have to want to be changed. We must invite the Holy Spirit of God to do His Miraculous Work in our lives to change us. We have to let go of some things and renounce many other things. Everything about us that is not Righteous and Holy has to go. We have to give it all up and lay it at the Cross of Christ knowing and believing that Jesus defeated it 2,000 years ago.
God is able to do this in our lives. He wants to do this for us but we have to be willing to be changed. No one stays the same when they are Saved and born again. It is impossible. Examine yourself. What things about you are not in alignment with the Righteousness and Holiness of the Truth of the Word of God? Whatever comes to your mind right now is what God wants to change about you right now. He is able to do this if you are willing to lay it down on the Altar and believe that Jesus died on the Cross to defeat it.
The Work has already been done. Jesus defeated Satan and every one of his demons at the Cross of Calvary. He won the Victory for us. All we have to do is live in that Victory and allow the Holy Spirit to transform us from the old man to the new man. It’s a Miraculous process and as we look back over our lives we can see the changes the Lord has made. Look what the Lord has done! Hallelujah!
God wants to……….turn the tide……….in your life.
Thank you Lord for changing me, Doreen
