Childlike Faith

Isiah 55:8-9 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

As we grow in our faith, we come to the understanding that God’s ways are not our ways. Oftentimes, God's decisions to do certain things leave us in a quandary and wondering why He has done this. While we may never find the answer to these questions, we must be ever faithful and trusting of His reasoning.

God does not operate on our emotions or wants. His actions are always to benefit His Kingdom, not our personal lives. This may seem unloving to some, but it is not. The Kingdom of God is for us but it is not about us. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are citizens of His Kingdom but we are not in way, shape, or form, rulers of His Kingdom. We do not make the decisions. He does, and we have to trust that His decisions are ALWAYS for the good of His Kingdom. This is faith.

Sometimes bad things happen in our lives that we don’t understand. We pray and pray for someone to be healed in the physical sense and they die. We pray for a breakthrough in a financial situation but it never happens. We seek the Lord for Deliverance to come to a family member but nothing happens.

In situations like this, we must come to the point that we believe God and trust that He is at work in the situation and that His ways are much higher than our ways. Whatever He does and is doing, is for the betterment of His Kingdom and if we are a citizen of that Kingdom, we want what He wants even when it doesn’t make us happy.

Jesus said Truly I say unto you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 18:3) God wants us to trust Him like little children trust their Daddy to take care of them. Little kids don’t know much about what their parents do behind the scenes to provide for them. They don’t know how hard they work or what they go through. Nor do they know the financial burdens their parents carry or the stress they are under. They are not supposed to know these things. They are little children so they trust that whatever happens, everything is going to be okay.

This is how God wants us to trust Him. Don’t second guess God. Don’t interrogate Him and don’t try to manipulate Him. He knows what He is doing and everything He does is good. Simply place your faith in Him like a little child trusts their mom and dad. Jesus said Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 18:4)

Trust in the Lord and stop worrying. You may not understand why things are happening but that’s okay. His ways are not your ways. His ways are higher. Just trust Him and everything is going to be okay.

Trust Him and He will……….turn the tide……….in your situation!

This is true faith.         Doreen
