Choose Grace

Acts 2:41 And the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

On the Day of Pentecost when Peter preached the Message of Grace to the huge crowd of Jews, the Bible records that about three thousand souls were saved. The Message of the Cross of Christ is a soul-saving Message. It is the Message of the Grace of God toward undeserving people.

God’s Grace and Mercy is something that people find difficult to accept. Although they know in their hearts they are sinners, pride stands in the way of them accepting the Saving Grace of God. But, on the other hand, they realize they do not deserve the Grace or Mercy of God because of the sin in their lives.

Prior to the Crucifixion of Christ, the sins of people were covered by the Sacrificial Laws. There were hundreds of Laws in place which only resulted in death to the people because no one could keep the Law.

In the Book of Exodus, we read when the people fell away from their faith in God and made a golden calf which they worshiped. This action broke the First Commandment. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. (Exodus 20:3) God went on to say, You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, as a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing Mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments. (Exodus 20:3-6)

God specifically told them not to make and worship idols and yet, they did it. The result was not good. And about three thousand men of the people fell that day. (Exodus 32:28)

1,600 years later on the Day of Pentecost as Peter preached the Message of Grace, three thousand were saved. My friends, Law brings forth death. Grace brings forth Life!

Jesus Christ brought Grace into the world for everyone who chooses to believe in Him. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, the Glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of Grace the Truth. (John 1:14) Jesus is God’s Vessel of Grace and Truth which is for all people. The Message of the Cross of Christ (the Gospel) will result in Life; Everlasting Life for all who believe.

We can choose to live under Law or by the Grace of God. Law always results in death. Grace results in Life.

The Grace of God will……….turn the tide………..in your life.
