2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Deception is Satan’s forte. He is a liar through and through. Jesus called him the father of lies. That means, he was the first liar. We know this to be true as he was the first to lie to Eve in the Garden and she believed it. Yes, deception is a weapon of the enemy and he uses it against us every day.

By planting thoughts in your head, Satan will deceive you. He will convince you of things that will rob you of your Joy and Peace. The Apostle Paul warns of this in his second letter to the Corinthians. But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3)

The enemy does this all the time, but he is especially brutal at this time of the year when people are having fun and celebrating the holidays. Many folks suffer from grief and sadness due to the loss of a loved one or a painful memory. Satan will take every opportunity to lie to you and deceive you leaving you hopeless and sad.

The remedy for this is to remain alert and recognize the lies of the enemy as deception. There is much to rejoice over. To listen to the voice of the enemy can cause one to fall into a state of depression which is a dark, lonely place. Do not succumb to his lies. Do not be deceived and allow him to corrupt your mind.

The Apostle Paul instructs us to cast down every argument that is against the knowledge of God and take our thoughts captive to obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) This is absolutely one of the most important things we can do. Your mind belongs to you. Your thoughts are yours to keep or discard. Stop holding on to the lies of the Devil. Cast them out and hold fast to the Truth of the Word of God.

Paul put it like this: Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

God has a Plan and a Purpose for your life. He cannot use you when you are burdened in deception and held captive in depression. Get in the Word of God and start reading. There you will find the Truth and true Joy and Peace. If there is enough Truth in your mind, you will be able to fight off the attack of the enemy who comes ONLY to kill, steal and destroy your life. Jesus came that you may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

The choice is yours. Choose Joy. Choose Peace. Choose Life. Choose Jesus!

The right choice will……….turn the tide……..in your life.
