2 Timothy 3:6-7 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth.
Since the time of Adam and Eve, women have always been easy prey for the enemy and a great influence on their families. Knocking on doors and visiting homemakers during the day while their husbands are gone to work, is how the large cults of today have grown to the numbers they are. Women seeking friendship and a place of belonging can be easily swept up into the lies of these groups and quickly find themselves entrapped by the enemy.
They claim to be great teachers and indeed spend time indoctrinating people with information that sounds good but is false. Longing to be accepted, many women are swayed by these people and if their husband is not strong in his faith, like Eve, she can convince him that these people are speaking the truth and she will lead her family to destruction.
Of course, women without a husband and family are the easiest ones to reach due to their need and desire for friendship. I personally know several cases like this in California and it is due to the dedication and persistence of the people who spend countless hours knocking on doors, talking to people and giving away literature which is false doctrine and lies.
Cults grow in number because their followers go out and seek people. Christians used to do this but anymore most Christians sit in their churches and wait for the lost to come to them. This is apathy on the part of the Body of Christ. Jesus said, Go ye therefore and teach nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
He commanded us to go out and teach the Truth to the lost and dying world. Most of us go out into the world every day, but few of us teach the Truth to anyone we see or meet. This is disobedience on our part. Jesus did not SUGGEST we do this, He COMMANDED us to do it. We have been commissioned by Him to share the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.
The Church has operated in apathy long enough! It’s time to rise up and go out into the world and teach the Truth of the Gospel of Christ. It’s time to stand for the Truth of the Word of God and not deviate or waver. We can no longer lay down and roll over like a beat down dog. We are not beat down! We are empowered by the Holy Spirit of God! It's time to be obedient to walk in the Power we have been given!
All God asks of us is, obedience. Obedience with pure motives will reap great rewards in Heaven for God’s people. We can have our rewards here on earth, or we can receive our rewards in Heaven. Earthly rewards are temporary and short-lived. Heavenly rewards last forever. They are eternal. We must choose which rewards we seek.
Let us live in obedience to God seeking Heavenly, eternal rewards. This is all He asks of us.
The Gospel of Christ will……..turn the tide
Commanded by Him, Doreen
