Commissioned And Empowered

Mark 16:14  Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.

The Book of Acts reveals God’s pattern for His Church; the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. From a study of this Book, we learn what God wants and expects from the Body of Christ. We also learn what is possible through our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross.

In the Four Gospels, we read the Words of Jesus. He tells us all these things but in the Book of Acts, we read where the believers actually put Jesus’ Words into action. They knew they were to continue the ministry of Jesus and through and by the Power of the Holy Spirit, they were able to do so.

In the Gospel according to Mark, we read of Jesus appearing to the Apostles after He was Crucified, Buried, and Resurrected. We know that He appeared to well over 500 people at this time. He performed many Miracles, Signs, and Wonders during this time. He also spoke to believers and told them what they were to do now.

Before this time, they all traveled with Jesus and watch Him perform Miracles. Now, they were given the Power of the Holy Spirit to do the same. In the 16th Chapter of Mark, we read where Jesus instructed them. Many theologians refer to this as the Great Commission. Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” (Mark 16:14-18)

It’s easy to see that it’s all about our faith. The first thing Jesus did was to rebuke their unbelief. That means He literally called them out for their lack of faith. Unbelief is a demonic spirit that robs people of their faith in Christ.

What do you believe about Jesus? Perhaps a better question would be: What do you NOT believe? To inherit the Kingdom of God (spend eternity in Heaven) you must believe in Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross. Jesus said it! but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Examine yourself. What is it about Jesus’ Life and Ministry do you doubt or not believe? If you have answered anything, the evil spirit of doubt and unbelief is ministering to you. You have the Power to rebuke it off yourself. Command it to leave you in the Name of Jesus. Simply repeat these words: Spirit of doubt and unbelief, I command you to leave me now in the Name of Jesus. You have no place in me. I am a born-again child of God and I believe every Word in the Bible to be true. Therefore, you are trespassing on God’s property and I put you under my feet and crush you like a bug! I loose the Power of the Holy Spirit to rule and reign in my life from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I am led by the Spirit and you have no place here. Thank you Jesus for giving me the Power to rebuke the enemy and all his minions. Thank you for giving me the authority to use your Name in this spiritual war I face every day. In You Jesus, I have victory and for this, I am eternally grateful.

Understanding your authority is very important.

Exercising your authority will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Eternally grateful,         Doreen
