John 16:24 Until now you have asked nothing in My Name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

 

One of the greatest Benefits of being a born again believer is our ability to communicate with God the Father through our Advocate and Intercessor, Jesus. Yesterday, I attempted to draw a word picture of God’s Communication Triangle where God is at the top, Jesus is in the bottom left corner and the Holy Spirit is in the bottom right corner.

 

The Word of God teaches us that Jesus sits at the Right Hand of the Father. It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, Who is even at the Right Hand God, (Romans 8:34) As we look at the Communication Triangle, we see Jesus on the bottom left corner, but from God’s point of view, He is exactly where the Word says He is, on the right.

 

Our place is on the bottom line between Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Everyone is stationed on the bottom line. We are all there together. No one is in a better position than anyone else because God is no respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34) Therefore, no one has direct access to God the Father and no one can instruct the Holy Spirit to do anything.

 

Through our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross, we have the Benefit of an open line of communication with Jesus. We can go to Jesus with anything at any time. He is there waiting for us to call on Him for help. God already knows our need. He is waiting for us to ask.

 

God also knows our motives. He knows WHY we want what we want and this has a LOT to do with God’s decision how to answer. James said, You do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your own pleasures. (James 4:3) We will have more on this tomorrow.

 

God sits high and lifted up at the top. He looks down at the bottom line where we all live. He knows everything about everyone. He knows the desires of our hearts and our motive for those desires. What we have to learn is that this life is not about us and what we want. God has a Plan for each of our lives. When our motives and desires align with His Plan to build His Kingdom and we go to Him through faith in Jesus Christ, He will act on our behalf by instructing the Holy Spirit to do something Miraculous. Jesus said it all when He said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

 

I pray you can visualize this Communication Triangle God has put in place for us. We must never lose sight of our place. We are all on the bottom line. Jesus is our main line of communication between us and our Heavenly Father Who releases the Holy Spirit to work in our lives and make things happen to BUILD THE KINGDOM OF GOD! It’s not about us. Amen.

 

God is about to……….turn the tide……..on the bottom line. I pray you are ready.
