Converted

Acts 3:19 Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the Presence of the Lord.

After Peter called out the entire Jewish population for the murder of God’s Son and revealed their willful ignorance, he called them all to Repentance. It’s a wonder they didn’t kill him on the spot given the mindset of the Jewish rulers.

These words of Peter were for the rulers, and the people of Israel at that time but these words are also for anyone and everyone today. The fact is, we are all sinners and we all stand in desperate need of a Savior without which we are destined to spend eternity in Hell.

When we study the Greek words in this Passage of Scripture, we get a deeper meaning. The Greek word for “convert” is episrepho. It means to turn completely around and proceed in the opposite direction. We might say it means to make a 180. In military terms, it means to make an about-face.

One cannot be saved without changing direction. We cannot expect to continue marching in the same direction doing the same thing and proclaim Salvation. No! There is ALWAYS CHANGE in the born-again believer in Christ Jesus.

Peter said, Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, In order for your sins to be blotted out, you must repent and be converted. As we just stated, this is a complete 180 degree turn. It is turning from your wicked ways and take up the path of Righteousness in total faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary.

The Greek word for “blotted out” is exaleipho. This means completely removed and done away with; obliterated; gone forever never to be mentioned again. It is as if the sins never happened!

When we are truly saved God sees us as totally sinless; perfect like His Son. This is a difficult Truth to understand because we know our own past. We know what we have done and we also know that we are deserving of punishment. BUT, God’s Word says, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death. (Romans 8:1-2)

Hallelujah! This is the Freedom that comes with true Salvation. I pray you have repented and have been converted. I pray you are not the person you used to be but the new man walking the new path where there is no turning back, no turning back.

Repent and you will be converted. God will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

No chance of ever turning back,         Doreen
