Acts 17:24 God Who made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of Heaven and Earth, dwells not in temples made with hands.
The Apostle Paul did not address the people of Athens in his usual manner which was to preach about the Prophets of Old and the Messiah. He didn’t talk to them about this because they were Gentiles and had no previous knowledge of any of it. Rather, he used their own false gods to teach them of the One True God. This was genius on his part!
The Athenians had a monument with the inscription on it: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. They were right! They didn’t know God and their own inscription spoke to that fact. So, Paul simply told them about the One True God whom they admittedly did not know.
Paul didn’t begin by explaining the Words of the Prophets, he started at the beginning: Creation. His teaching basically spoke of the fact that Creation demands a Creator and God is His Name. God Who made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of Heaven and Earth, dwells not in temples made with hands. (Acts 17:24)
In the above Statement, Paul not only says that God is the Creator (Maker) of the world and all things in the world, but He is also the Lord (Keeper) of Heaven and Earth. This, my friends, needs to be taught to the masses of people today who believe that man can destroy God’s Earth.
Man can try to destroy God’s Creation, but he will never succeed. The world is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. (Psalms 24:1) Scientists and Ecologists may attempt to distort God’s Function and Order for Earth, but they are extremely limited because God will simply not allow it.
No man can change what God has set in place. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. (Genesis 8:22) Try as they may, man will never be able to make the sun rise in the east and set in the west. Nor will they make a horse give birth to a baby giraffe.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-4) God is the Creator and Keeper of His Universe and everything in it. No one will ever change that. He is God Almighty. This world belongs to Him. He is the Creator and the Keeper. Period. End of discussion.
The True Word of God will……...….turn the tide……..in this world.
