Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

 

Yesterday we initiated a discussion about two people in the New Testament who have no names. They are simply known as the old man and the new man. The old man represents every human being on earth prior to Salvation. This person is corrupt in nature because they are the product of Satan and his lies.

 

The new man is born when the old man hears the Gospel of Christ and accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior. This man is the product of the Word of God which is Righteous and Holy. When the new man is born the Holy Spirit begins His Sanctifying Work within him. Some things change immediately while others happen over time. Sanctification is a life-long process.

 

Jesus went to the Cross and shed His Perfect Blood to pay the price required by God the Father for the sins of the world. God required a Perfect Blood Sacrifice and Jesus was the only Person who could fill the bill.

 

God wants every person on earth to be Saved and born again. It is not His Will that anyone remains living as the old man, corrupt and evil in all his ways. The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

 

Simply knowing about Jesus is not Salvation. Knowledge is not Salvation. True Salvation will result in the death of the old man and the birth of the new man. I heard a theologian say “God’s solution is execution.” We must die to ourselves if we want to live for Christ.

 

The Apostle Paul wrote I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

 

God’s solution will……….turn the tide……….in your life.
