Matthew 8:16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a Word, and healed all who were sick,

 

Paul, and his ministry team, were having church in the home of Lydia who had invited them to use her house for this purpose. (For the details on this, review July 24th and 25th Morning Messages.) This was the first Church in Europe and one of the first things they encountered was a demo-possessed woman. Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. (Acts 16:16)

 

I find it interesting that casting out demons was a huge part of Jesus’ Ministry as well as that of the Early Church and yet today, it is virtually unheard of in the Church. When Jesus sent the Twelve out to minister, He instructed them saying Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:8)

 

Mark recorded that they went out and preached that people should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them. (Mark 6:12-13)

 

Jesus said And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; (Mark 16:16) He also said Behold I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you. (Luke 10:19)

 

As we consider the condition of the world today, it is obvious that demon spirits are running rampant. Evil is everywhere but where is the Church? Where are the Saved, born-again believers in Christ who are called to cast these demons out? Where are the Preachers and Teachers who have been given the authority to rebuke Satan and his minions from their midst? Why are these people hiding behind the walls of their church buildings instead of facing the enemy head-on and casting out the demons that are overtaking society? More importantly, where are YOU?

 

Jesus’ commands to the Apostles and the seventy that He sent out to minister still exist today for EVERY born-again believer in Him and His Finished Work on the Cross. He defeated all power of the enemy there (Colossians 2:15) and yet we, His followers, allow demons to run wild in our lives, in our homes, and in our churches! Why?

 

The answer is fear, doubt, and unbelief all three of which are DEMONIC SPIRITS! You cannot fight a demonic spirit as long as demonic spirits are ministering to you. If you are afraid of demons, cast out the spirit of fear from yourself and loose the spirit of FAITH! If you doubt the Power in the Name of Jesus to rebuke demons, cast out the spirit of doubt from yourself and loose the spirit of FAITH! If you do not believe Jesus gave you power over the enemy, bind that demonic spirit of unbelief, command it to leave you, and loose the spirit of FAITH!

 

FAITH, FAITH, FAITH! Faith in Christ and Him Crucified is the Power to overcome every demonic spirit Satan has. YOU have been given the Power and Authority to use the Mighty Name of Jesus in FAITH and cast them all out! Loose and release the Power of the Holy Spirit of God to rule and reign in your life and in the lives of those you love and come in contact with.

 

There is Power in the Name of Jesus to……….turn the tide……….in this evil world!
