Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
As we study the life and ministry of Saul we find that after his conversion and being baptized in the Holy Spirit, he began to preach the Gospel to people in Damascus. Then he went to Arabia for approximately three years.
While we do not read about this in the Book of Acts, the Apostle later wrote about it in his letter to the Galatians. But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His Grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were Apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days but I saw none of the other Apostles except James, the Lord’s brother. (Galatians 1:15-19)
It is believed by most theologians that it was during this three-year period that the Holy Spirit imparted to him the New Covenant that he would preach throughout the region and plant an untold number of New Testament Churches.
The Apostle’s relationship with Christ was far more than just having knowledge about Him. He was in fellowship with Christ. It has been said that the man who probably never saw Christ in the flesh, understood Him best.
He didn’t just preach and proclaim Christ, he proved Him. Because of this, the Jews grew to hate him with the same passion they hated Jesus and set out to kill him too. And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him. (Acts 9:23)
They set traps for him and tried to ambush him but the Lord protected him and used the other Disciples to help him escape the City of Damascus. One night the Disciples put him in a basket and lowered him over the wall of the city in the dark of the night. The Gospel of the New Covenant had to get out to the people and God had selected this man for the job! Then the Disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket. (Acts 9:25)
When the Lord calls us to do something, it doesn’t matter what other people say or do. Our mission has been established and we will devote our life and fortune to that end. God has a Divine Assignment for every believer. As we draw closer and closer in our relationship with Jesus, our assignment will become more and more clear. Do not question your Divine Assignment. Simply act in obedience and the Lord will bless you like never before.
Listen and obey and watch the Lord……….turn the tide……..in your world.
