Divine Equation

Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.

Jesus came to earth to call sinners to repentance. God loves the people of the world so much that He offered His Son as the only suitable Sacrifice for their sins. This is why Jesus came to earth as a man. This is why He suffered and died the horrible death on the Cross of Calvary. He did it so people could be saved from living a life of guilt and shame and spending all of eternity in Hell. He did it for you and He did it for me.

Jesus did the Work once and for all on the Cross. It was there that He paid the price required by God Almighty for all the sins of the entire world. Whatever your sin, Jesus paid the price so you can be forgiven. It doesn’t matter how horrible it is, the price has been paid in full.

All God requires of us is repentance which is to admit that we are sinners; that we are not worthy of anything God has; that we have failed God in so many ways. Repentance is to fall on our face before God, the Creator of the universe, and admit that we cannot make it in this world on our own; that without Him, we are nothing; that we are truly sorry for those things we have done that are not pleasing to Him.

True repentance on our part will result in true Forgiveness on God’s part. This is the greatest Promise of God to mankind. It’s not just saying, “I’m sorry and I’ll try to not do that again.” This is not true repentance. True repentance is to totally surrender your life to God knowing that living your life for Him is the only way to Victory over sin and believing that faith in Him is the only source of Deliverance from the sin that has such a hold on us.

True repentance will ALWAYS bring true Forgiveness from God. That is a fact. If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) When we come to the place in our lives where we realize that we cannot make it without Jesus, we will truly repent. God knows our hearts. He does not listen to lip service. He only accepts a true, heart-felt confession of guilt. At that point, He will offer what only He can give: Forgiveness.

Repentance on our part and Forgiveness on His part equals Salvation. This, my friends, is the Divine Equation for real Salvation. At this point, we are born again; a new person; set free from all the guilt and shame of our past. The old man is dead and we are alive in Christ because of His Finished Work on the Cross. Anything short of this will not do.

I pray you have come to this point in your life. If not, today is the day of Salvation. Today is the day to fall on your face before God and admit that you are a sinner and that you need Him in your life. Today is the day to confess your faith in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross for the forgiveness of your sins. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. Jesus said, I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance. (Luke 5:32) This is WHY Jesus came to earth. He said so Himself.

Repentance will……….turn the tide
