Divine Orchestration

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.

God orchestrates our lives. This is amazing and when we consider all that He has done and is doing all the time, we must simply stand in total awe of Him!

In the 9th Chapter of Acts, we find an example of Divine Orchestration. Saul (the greatest persecutor of believers) was on his way to Damascus to arrest some more believers when God blinded him with Light and knocked him right off his horse to the ground. While Saul was on the ground, Jesus spoke to him and Saul instantly knew that what he had been doing was wrong. In an instant, Saul was a changed man and when he got up he discovered that he was blind. In short, God humbled him.

The men traveling with Saul had also been selected by God because they had a hand in God’s Plan. We don’t know how men many there were but they stayed with Saul and helped him. Some other men may have been scared when they saw the Light and ran off. These men were selected for this task at that particular time.

While this was happening, God was at work in the City of Damascus speaking to a man named Ananias who was a Disciple (an obedient follower of Christ). God had a task for Ananias to do too and He told him about it in a Vision.

Ananias knew all about Saul and his history of persecuting believers, so he questioned God. But the Lord said unto him, go your way: for he is a chosen vessel unto Me, to bear My Name before the Gentiles, and Kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how great things he must suffer for My Name’s sake. (Acts 9:15-16) Ananias heard the Lord and he believed Him. He knew Saul’s history. He had heard about all the horrible things he had done to believers from many people BUT he chose to believe God and be obedient. This is why Ananias is called a Disciple (obedient follower) and not just a believer.

In addition, at the same time, God was at work in the life of still another man named Judas. God wanted to use his house. Saul’s traveling companions led him by the hand to the home of Judas and that’s where Saul would be when Ananias came to lay hands on him to regain his eyesight.

Every person in this scenario was hand-picked (chosen) by God to make the whole thing play out as God wanted it to. The fact is, God uses people in many ways. We are not to question God. He has everything all planned already. We have no idea how He wants to use us today but we do know that His Plans and His Timing are perfect.

Therefore, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

In His time, He will…..…….turn the tide……….in this world.
