Do What You Are Told

Acts 1:7 And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in His Own Power.

At His last meeting with the people prior to His Ascension, Jesus reminded them about what was important. They expected that life would go back to the way it was prior to His coming, but as we discussed yesterday, God never goes backward. He always moves forward and He wants us to do the same.

They asked Him questions that were not important and He told them so. How many times do we ask God questions and we get no answer? Most of the time that’s because we are asking questions that don’t pertain to us. God will give to each of us what we need to know. We search for information and guidance from people and other sources when all we have to do is seek the leading of the Holy Spirit and He will give us all we need at that time. Our job is to trust Him and do ONLY what He tells us to do.

I have recently experienced such a circumstance in my own life. God told me to build a building on the Ministry Grounds. It’s a big project and will cost a lot of money especially now when prices on building materials (and everything else) are so inflated.

I was hesitant to start the project because I didn’t have the money to build it and I WILL NOT PUT THIS MINISTRY IN DEBT. God taught me that lesson in my personal life a long time ago and I will never go down that road again. So, what was I to do? I knew He said to build the building, and I knew I could build the building, but how was I supposed to pay for it?

One morning during my private time with Him, I asked Him, God, how will I pay for this project? His answer was as clear as day. He said, “I told you to BUILD the building. I didn’t tell you to PAY for it. Do what you are told.” Wow! Okay, Lord, I got it!

So many times we try to get ahead of God and that is foolish on our part. I see now that God has a plan for the building to be paid for. That’s not my department. He told ME to BUILD the building. That means putting on your work clothes and going to work. I am not to worry about the financing I am to do what He has told me to do: BUILD IT!

So, that’s exactly what I am doing. I am trusting God (once again) to do His Part. I am operating in total faith and I BELIEVE as the project moves forward the money will be there to pay for it. How? I don’t know. That’s not my department. He asked me to trust Him, believe and build. He asked me to step out in faith. What is faith? Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

All God asks of us is to trust Him and do what we are told. This is what Jesus was saying to the five hundred people prior to His Ascension: It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in His Own Power. (Acts 1:7)

Faith in Him will……….turn the tide
